Learning spaces forum
The design of sustainable learning spaces has already been successfully tackled in many places at the University of Oldenburg. In the process, learning spaces have been created that promote very different forms of learning through their respective design. The 'Learning Spaces Forum' format was created to make these learning spaces more visible.
Here, innovative learning spaces and their design to promote learning are presented in short films. If you are interested, please contact the learning space designers mentioned!
Virtual emergency room
The Virtual A&E and Nursing module offers the opportunity to simulate acute medical emergencies and nursing scenarios. The learning objectives for human medicine include training in clinical decision-making, working under time pressure and consolidating standardised processes. In the field of nursing, the focus is particularly on developing communication skills in day-to-day interprofessional practice and on carrying out nursing procedures in accordance with guidelines. During the scenarios, students receive guidance and feedback from a lecturer or trained tutors.

Green school
"Learning from nature - learning in nature" is the motto of the Green School. Living animals and plants are at the centre of the students' work with the school classes. The practical activities are designed to train students in scientific working methods and promote a responsible approach to nature. The Green School thus makes a contribution to education for sustainable development (ESD).

Re:Lab - Praxis Lab for Reimagining EdTech Futures
The Re:Lab combines two learning spaces: the Re:Lab Creative Studio and the Re:Lab Mobile. In the Re:Lab creative studio, the creative, explorative use of digital media is emphasised! In addition to the digital equipment, the creative studio places particular emphasis on a flexible room concept with a large artist's table for joint ideation and a writable magnetic wall for visualising creative ideas. Beanbags and a coffee machine invite informal dialogue. The Re:Lab Mobil travels to schools with a large selection of digital media for creative design projects, digital-exploratory lessons, working groups, project weeks, etc. The Re:Lab Mobil is currently still under construction. Udates to follow!

Sports facilities in the Oldenburg area - 'apolitical' places?
The OTB gymnasium on Haarenufer and its archive, the Heinz Dettmer Stadium in Lohne and the Hössensport facility in Westerstede - these historical sites will become non-university learning spaces in the course "Unpolitical places? Sports facilities in the Oldenburg region and their social significance in the modern age". The aim is to research the social significance of sports facilities locally along the historical upheavals of the 20th century. Supposedly apolitical places in and around Oldenburg come into view as political spaces in which the reference problems of modern society were articulated in the medium of sport.
The students explore these learning spaces by devoting themselves to research questions on the aforementioned and other sports facilities and preparing presentations.

Textile teaching and learning lab
The examination of culture must not only take place on paper or in archives, but in "practical doing and making". A learning space has been created for this with the Textile Teaching-Learning Lab.
The Textile Teaching-Learning Lab at the Institute of Material Culture invites pupils and students to explore everyday textile culture together. Textile didactics and education for sustainable development form a theoretical background for multi-perspective, practice-orientated and situational research in the multifunctional rooms and with mobile units.

Learning Lab
The Learning Lab - the creative learning space in the library. Whether teamwork or solo projects, students can not only adapt the Learning Lab to their individual learning needs thanks to the flexible spatial design, but also use the versatile technical possibilities of the learning space: PCs and Macs with tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Final Cut for creative development, VR glasses with AI feedback for presentations and smartboards for interactive learning. The Learning Lab also hosts workshops and events on topics such as podcasting, video editing and VR glasses.

ViTeLLO - Virtual Teaching and Learning Lab Oldenburg
ViTeLLo enables learning processes to be designed in a virtual space. Here, teachers and learners can meet in a virtual building comprising several rooms for formal and informal learning sessions. ViTeLLO combines the advantages of both virtual and face-to-face meetings. Methods such as experiments and simulation games can be implemented here, as can training and event formats, without participants having to be in the same physical location. As part of the Participate@UOL project, various teaching and learning formats are currently being trialled.
