Affiliation with the Research Training Group
PhD students and postdoctoral researchers whose financing is already secured from other sources and whose research aligns thematically with the RTG’s research programme may apply for associate membership of the RTG.
Associate researchers are integrated into the RTG’s academic community and, depending on their career stage, can take part in workshops, retreats, summer schools, the research colloquium and other academic and career-related activities. Associate membership also offers opportunities for interdisciplinary exchange, networking and the development of cross-project co-operations. It does not entail financing from the RTG.
The requirements are a clear academic fit and a demonstrable additional benefit of the association for both the applicant’s own academic development and for the RTG. The Steering Committee decides on admission on the basis of a formal application. If you are interested, please contact the RTG Office.
Scholarships for doctoral candidates in medicine
Medical students may apply at any time for a scholarship to undertake a medical PhD project that fits in with the RTG’s research programme.
Funding generally covers a continuous period of six to twelve months. A prerequisite is that the student’s regular medical studies are suspended for the duration of the funded doctoral research. During the scholarship, recipients are fully integrated into the RTG’s research and training programme.
If you are interested, please contact the RTG Office, where you will receive information on the application procedure.
