Historian Hahn receives Poland's highest order of merit
Oldenburg historian Prof Dr Hans Henning Hahn has been awarded the highest Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland. He received the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit from Polish President Bronisław Komorowski during a ceremony at the Royal Castle in Warsaw.
She is the granddaughter of folk icon Woody Guthrie: Sarah Lee Guthrie. His great-uncle is the American Nobel Prize winner for literature John Steinbeck: Johnny Irion. The couple tour the world together and give concerts. The folk duo will be performing at the University Library on 28 April.
The University of Oldenburg bid farewell to its President Prof Dr Babette Simon at an academic matinée. Numerous guests came to the Audimax of the lecture hall centre, including Lower Saxony's Science Minister Dr Gabriele Heinen-Kljajić.
