Last week, Lars Mohrhusen had the opportunity to participate in the renowned Falling Walls Science Summit in Berlin together with colleagues from the University of Oldenburg. This international forum brings together outstanding researchers at all career stages with key players from politics, business, investment, and entrepreneurship.
The event offered a unique opportunity to look at innovation beyond the purely scientific perspective. The focus was also on political framework conditions, economic challenges, and specific funding instruments for the various Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) – from groundbreaking basic research to scaled industrial application.
For our working group, this “thinking outside the box” is of great value. The exchange highlights how our research on hybrid materials and catalysts is embedded in larger social and technological contexts. It is inspiring to see how these global perspectives flow back into our group and enrich the strategic development of our projects.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg for inviting us to this deeply inspiring event
