On September 4th, three members of our group attended a workshop hosted by Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions at the IMPT Institute of Micro Production Technology at the Leibniz Universität Hannover.
The program covered a wide range of topics, from the fundamentals of vacuum technology and pumping principles to the theory and practice of turbomolecular pumps. Justin Klimek, Marc Kobbenbring and Clara Nerger also gained insights into mass spectrometry, the miniaturization of vacuum systems for future quantum technologies, and the importance of precise leak detection. Hands-on workshops with the HiScroll and turbomolecular pumps complemented the lectures, making the day both practical and engaging.
Many thanks to Wojtek Dziechciejewski for inviting us, Pfeiffer Vacuum for a well-organized event and to Leibniz University Hannover for hosting!
