Studied philosophy and political science (M.A.) 1998-2003 in Oldenburg, doctorate in philosophy 2007 with a thesis on Ludwig Wittgenstein, also in Oldenburg, habilitation there 2025.
Thematic focus of research and teaching are ethics, existential philosophy and film aesthetics as well as analyses of the philosophical significance of metaphors for the human world.
The guiding question here is the relationship between (ethical) ideas and mythological structures and how these influence the human understanding of ethics, aesthetics and being.
