I work at the intersection of German Idealism, phenomenology, philosophy of history and post/decolonial theory. In my dissertation, I am investigating how Hegel's concept of freedom is taken up, criticised and further developed in postcolonial thought. I am interested in how new understandings of freedom, history and subjectivity emerge from the encounter between idealist philosophy and decolonial perspectives. I am also interested in critical theory, ethics of alterity and French philosophy of the 20th and 21st centuries (especially Emmanuel Lévinas, Albert Camus, Michel Foucault).
