Broadcasting Law CD-ROM
Holznagel . Stenner
After a brief introduction to the history of broadcasting and the basic concepts of broadcasting technology, the authors present the constitutional framework of the broadcasting system and freedom of broadcasting. The chapter "European framework conditions" examines, among other things, the EC Television Directive. The differences between public and private broadcasting in areas such as responsibility, structure, financing and supervision are discussed in detail. Other chapters discuss media literacy and media user protection as well as retransmission options using analogue and digital cable. A final chapter discusses the planned switchover from analogue to digital broadcasting and the associated problems (switch-over).
The CD-ROM is illustrated with numerous graphics, and each chapter concludes with an informative summary. The authors also provide a comprehensive overview of the current literature relevant to the topic. In addition to the content that corresponds to the book edition, the CD-ROM contains hypermedia-linked electronic texts with the cited laws and judgements in full text.
