Legal status and liability of company representatives

Volume 2 of the series Oldenburger Beiträge zum Zivil- und Wirtschaftsrecht deals with the "Rechtsstellung und Haftung der Betriebsbeauftragten" (Legal Status and Liability of Company Officers), in particular the various environmental officers (water, emissions, waste), the health and safety officers and the data protection officer. The legal basis is presented and the legal status - particularly from a labour law perspective - is discussed. The recurring disputes and legal questions concerning the legal status of the representatives under labour law and the nature and extent of their liability for damages associated with their role as representatives are then dealt with in general and by way of example. Finally, the co-determination of the works council and other interest groups in the appointment and dismissal of authorised representatives is described.
