After completing their PhDs, researchers are faced with the task of further developing their skills and carrying out independent research projects. Specific funding opportunities and training programmes are available to support them in this.
(J)CS / MS Programme: Junior Clinician Scientist, Clinician Scientist and Medical Scientist
Calls for applications are issued in November each year for the current programme, which runs from October of the following year. The deadline is always the end of February.
Presidential funding opportunities
Researchers on the path to tenure who are interested in establishing their own junior research group at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences may apply for start-up funding via the Presidential Board’s programme budget.
Seminars and courses on offer
In the UMO’s Academic Career Development calendar you will find seminars and workshops organised or commissioned by the Academic Career Development team itself, as well as workshops run by the Research & Science pillar as part of the ‘Professional Development’ component of the model degree programme in Medicine.
An interdisciplinary range of career development courses is provided by the University’s Graduate Academy .
