Study without prior knowledge

Russian preparatory course

In order to make it possible to study Slavic Studies without prior knowledge of the language, the Institute of Slavic Studies offers a free preparatory course - the preparatory course Russian - in the winter semester, which prepares students for the minimum entry level of the language module sla111 Russian 1. The preparatory course is held in the first half of the lecture period in the winter semester, the module sla111 Russian 1 in the second half of the lecture period.

Please note that the propaedeutic course is an intensive course with 3 sessions of 3 hours per week. The Russian 1 course is then reduced to 2 sessions of 3 hours per week.

The current dates of the preparatory course can be found in the course programme.

If you have any further questions, please contact the Slavic Studies staff.

Polish

Prospective students of Polish with no previous knowledge of the language take the winter semester module sla121 Polish 1 (!2 courses per week!). If required, a catch-up or in-depth course will be offered at a later date.
