Here, questions relating to inclusion, inclusive education and inclusive didactics in the classroom take centre stage in research and teaching. The focus is on the question of participation in education and teaching against the background of social difference categories with a particular focus on disability. Another focus in teaching and research is the inclusion-oriented and partly participatory professionalisation of educational professionals. Theoretical-analytical and empirical approaches are used in research.

Courses are orientated towards the learning requirements and needs of the students with the help of multi-method and media-based learning opportunities, so that inclusive teaching is already practised at the university. The focus here is on self-active and cooperative engagement with relevant content. The courses aim to link theory and practice in a meaningful way and to reflect on one's own practical experience against the background of theoretical knowledge. Practice-related and partly participatory events, excursions, work shadowing, specialist contributions etc. enrich the teaching.
