Digital species recording in Lower Saxony (ARDINI)

BildDevelopment and testing of a system of decentralised mobile recording devices and central GIS applications to increase the quality, efficiency and attractiveness of volunteer species recording in the field. ARDINI is developing a recording system that enables the wireless transmission of reporting data directly from the field using mobile phone technology. ARDINI offers map material and species identification functions in the field. Additional functions are integrated to help improve the accuracy of the observations. The ARDINI system will be developed to application maturity in the project using selected species groups and evaluated through field testing and accompanying expert discussions. The ARDINI research project is being carried out in co-operation with the following project partners:

  • C.v.O. University of Oldenburg
  • University of Applied Sciences Oldenburg/Ostfriesland/Wilhelmshaven
  • IP SYSCON GmbH, Hanover
  • German Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union NABU Oldenburger Land e.V.
