Parents or accompanying adults are responsible for the supervision of children at all KinderCampus events. The only exceptions to this are lectures in the Audimax.

KinderCampus 2025

An adventure day for the whole family

Discover, try out, join in, marvel and play - that's the motto of the KinderCampus. The university cordially invites you and your families to join us on 20 September between 11.00 and 16.00.

There will be a welcome event for children at 11.00 a.m. in the Audimax in building A14. You can download the entire programme here. All events are free of charge.

Please note: You must register in advance for some of the activities if you want to take part. This also applies to the two exciting short lectures in the university's largest lecture theatre, which are aimed at schoolchildren aged between eight and twelve. Registration is possible from Monday, 25 August.

Lectures

There is so much to explore in the world. This year, you can learn about the diversity of the sea and about democracy at the KinderCampus. Two exciting lectures await you in the Audimax, the university's largest lecture theatre. Please register for the individual dates from 25 August.

Where does the KinderCampus take place and how do I get there?

On this day, the Haarentor campus becomes a children's campus. Many of the offers can be found in building A14, our lecture theatre centre in the photo. The address is Uhlhornsweg 86 in 26129 Oldenburg.

The easiest way to get there is by bike. There are many bicycle stands in front of the building. There are also bus routes 306 and 310 to the university. Coming by car? There is a multi-storey car park directly opposite the lecture hall centre. There are many additional car parks at buildings V02 and V04 in Ammerländer Heerstraße 136 -138. There is another car park in building A55 at Haarenfeld 16, from where you can walk to the lecture theatre centre.

The rooms are well signposted, so you can't get lost. However, we are always there for you and will show you the way. You will recognise us by our yellow waistcoats.

I am not yet 8 years old, can I still come to the KinderCampus?

Of course! The age indication 8 to 12 years is only a recommendation for attending the lectures. But you can also experience a lot here.

Are adults allowed to attend lectures in the Audimax?

The seats in the lecture theatre are reserved for you children. Parents and accompanying persons are welcome to use the time for a break - e.g. with a coffee in the cafeteria. There will also be a live broadcast of the lectures in an adjacent seminar room. Adults can follow the lectures here.

You are welcome to attend most of the other events together with your parents.

The offers requiring registration on the website are already fully booked. Can I still come?

It's always worth taking a look at the fully booked events. Maybe there is still a place available.

Hunger & thirst

Of course we have also thought of that. The Studierendenwerk Oldenburg will be opening the cafeteria for you from 11.00 to 16.00. Here you can buy drinks, cakes and ice cream, sandwiches, a hot lunch and salad. There is also coffee for your parents. You can also take your food to the university canteen.

Eating is not permitted in the lecture theatre and seminar rooms.

What exactly is the KinderCampus ID card and what do I need it for?

Every child receives a KinderCampus ID card at the KinderCampus. You can pick this up at the information desk in the lecture hall centre. You can get a stamp for every activity you take part in at the KinderCampus. If you have collected at least three stamps, you can pick up a surprise at the information desk.

So take good care of your ID and keep collecting stamps at the various stations.

Do I need to bring anything to the KinderCampus?

You will need your trainers for the university sports activities in building S.

For the "Screen printing" workshop, bring a printable item of clothing or a piece of fabric from home, for example a light-coloured T-shirt or a jute bag. You must register in advance for this offer.

Is the KinderCampus barrier-free?

Access to the building and also to our seminar rooms and lecture theatres is barrier-free. If you need help, just get in touch with us at the information desk. We will be happy to help you and show you the best way.

Photo and film reference

The KinderCampus is a public event. We would like to point out that photos and videos will be taken during the day, which will be used for university public relations (press releases, university newspaper UNI-INFO, university website, social media channels).
