Programme
All buildings are marked on the map of the university. You can find it here.
Programme
It's not just the lectures that give you an insight into the exciting world of science. You can also try out interesting things on our campus.
For example, have you ever been in an acoustic labyrinth, made your own paper or tried out a dinosaur AR model? No? Then you can look forward to an exciting discovery tour.
Book world
from 11.00 to 16.00 in the university library
Welcome to the reading corner of the KinderCampus, a place that takes you into the world of books. Immerse yourself in exciting stories, discover new worlds and let yourself be enchanted by the words.
You will find us in the library on the Haarentor campus, directly behind the entrance area on level 1.
Physical education
from 11.00 to 16.00 in the foyer of building A14
Dinosaurs as we imagine them no longer exist. Or have they? With the help of digital augmented reality models, this is exactly what will be possible. At this station, you can stand in front of life-size dinosaur models or take a close look at the dinosaur models' physical features.
This is an offer from the Oldenburg teaching and learning laboratory SULab.
Green school
from 1.30 to 2.30 pm in building A14, room 0-031
In the workshop "Fruits and seeds - discovering the small wonders of nature", you will learn about different types of fruit and can discover the diversity of seeds through experiments under the binoculars. Different forms of dispersal will be modelled at a craft station.
This is an offer of the Oldenburg Teaching-Learning-Laboratory Green School.
University sports
from 12.00 to 16.00 in building S in the games hall and activity room I
University sports offers a number of sporting attractions: Try out an air track, learn to juggle or feel like an astronaut in the aerotrimm. There is also a table tennis table, spikeball and university hockey as well as a slackline for balancing.
Please bring your trainers!
Physical education
from 11.00 to 16.00 in the foyer of building A14
There were no mobile phones 300 years ago - but there were plenty of letters! How did people send each other messages back then? And how could a letter remain secret? Here you can discover how to write with a bird's feather, fold letters skilfully and seal them with a real seal. You can also decipher old letters. Some of them never reached the recipient - I wonder what they contained? Become detectives and find out!
This is an offer from the Oldenburg teaching and learning laboratory SULab.
Chemistry
from 11.00 to 16.00 in the foyer of building A14
A flame can jump? A gummy bear goes on an underwater treasure hunt without getting its feet wet? And somehow the water has to get into the darn bottle. At ChemOL, you can try your hand at simple chemistry and physics experiments, have fun learning about different topics and maybe even make something to take home. Take a little detour into the world of chemistry and carry out exciting experiments.
This is an offer from the Oldenburg ChemOL teaching and learning laboratory.
Mathematics
from 11.00 to 16.00 in the foyer of building A14
Maths as a game! Did you know that maths is not only in games, but can be a game itself? At our hands-on event, you can calculate, mirror and combine. Young and old explorers can join in: Different representations of the same number are sought out and put together as a matching pair. For older participants, there is a learning station on the topic of mirror axes. With creative tasks and surprising effects, maths invites you to experiment and marvel. Whether you are just starting out with counting or are already a real number pro - everyone will get their money's worth here.
This is an offer from the Oldenburg Teaching-Learning-Laboratory for Elementary Mathematics.
Ethics workshop
from 11.00 to 13.00 in the foyer of building A14
Is it fair if a child who helped with the baking gets an extra piece of cake? Is it fair that the female national football players earn significantly less money than the male national players?
What do you think is fair or unfair? We want to get to the bottom of this together by building our ideas of justice and injustice with Lego and discussing them together.
This is an offer from the Oldenburg Teaching-Learning-Lab Ethics Workshop.
Children's rights in action
from 11.00 to 16.00 in the foyer of building A14
At Children's Rights in Action, you can design your own route through the exhibition, because your rights are in the spotlight here. Do puzzles and quizzes, watch stories about your right to privacy. Make your own door signs or tell us what you think! Did you know that you have the right to your own name? Suggest names for our raccoon mascot. We need your ideas!
Hearing research
from 11.00 to 16.00 in building A14, room 0-030
Can we trust our ears? Can sounds be made visible? Find out!
You can test your own directional hearing in the acoustic labyrinth, experiment with "sound images" in the spectrogram - and learn about the effect and perception of sound.
Workshop "Musical investigation"
from 11.30 to 12.15 in the Chamber Music Hall in Building A11
Yoda freaks out! An aquarium, five four-legged friends and a funny musical investigation
"Mundus Canis - Five Humoresques for Guitar and Percussion" is a composition by the American composer George Crump. Stephan Schomaker (guitar) and Gereon Voß (percussion) use the music to help you track down some strange animal traits. An aquarium also plays a role.
Workshop "Painting with sounds"
at 13.00, 14.00 and 15.00 in the Chamber Music Hall in building A11
The story of the Queen of Colours takes you into a world of colours, which we paint with tones and sounds. You'll float with the gentle blue, ride with the wild, dangerous red and fight with the bitchy yellow. A variety of instruments are at your disposal to help you paint our worlds of sound.
Paper making" workshop
from 12.30 to 13.15 and from 14.00 to 14.45 in building A14, room 1-112
How is paper actually made? Find out in this workshop. Together we will make new, colourful paper from old paper - completely without a machine, just with your hands, a scooping frame and a little water. You can get creative and decorate your paper with colours, flowers or glitter. You will learn how to create something new from old newspapers or scraps of paper - and you will also be helping to protect the environment. At the end, you can of course take your self-made paper sheets home with you. Join in and discover how exciting recycling can be!
Recommended for children aged between six and twelve.
This is an offer of the Oldenburg Teaching-Learning-Laboratory ATB Werkstatt Technik.
Workshop
"Screen printing"
from 12.30 to 13.15 and from 14.00 to 14.45 in building A14, room 1-114
How does a picture actually end up on a T-shirt or poster? You can try it out for yourself with screen printing! In this workshop, you will learn a creative printing technique that can be used to transfer colourful motifs onto fabric. You can print your own motif - with real screen printing frames, squeegees and bright colours. Especially cool: Bring a printable item of clothing or a piece of fabric from home, for example a light-coloured T-shirt or a jute bag. This way you can design your very own unique piece and take it home with you. Get creative - and design your own designer piece!
Recommended for children aged between eight and 14.
This is an offer of the Oldenburg Teaching-Learning-Laboratory ATB Werkstatt Technik.
Tiny Observatory
from 11.00 to 16.00 in front of the A14 building and in the A14 foyer
The Tiny Observatory is an observatory on wheels that travels through northern Germany and brings the stars to people's homes. It will be a guest at the KinderCampus and show you telescopes that can be used to take photos of the universe, but also to do research. We will show you such photos, but also explain why our night-time light is bad for astronomy and the environment and why this light pollution is becoming an ever-increasing problem. In good weather, we can observe the sun.
