Doctoral students from the Universities of Oldenburg and Groningen

Anna Lena Obst

Dr. med. doctoral candidate at the Department of Health Services Research.

"The financial support for this free year, which I took for my doctorate, was already very positive. At the same time, I had the feeling that I was receiving intensive support from my supervisor, but then I thought that I could combine this with closer supervision via the university and the accompanying courses that I was then able to attend."

Paul Atigbire

Doctoral student in biochemistry at the Universities of Oldenburg and Groningen.

"You get an experience in two countries and the promise of a joint degree and that was quite unique."

Sophie Ellermann

Doctoral candidate in biology at the Universities of Oldenburg and Groningen

"I have been interested in getting to know different sites and learning about the different perspectives. [...] having a very strong focus on clinicial application appealed to me as well."

Doctoral students in MD/PhD

Arber Gashi

Physician in internal medicine, Geriatrics and research associate in Geriatrics at the Department of Health Services Research pursuing an MD/PhD.

"Science is fun, especially medical science and if you can find a programme that fits your passion, then go for it! In this last year, it has been very fun for me working in a multidisciplinary team. It widens your spectrum of knowledge and I would strongly suggest [doing an MD/PhD]"
