I am #UOL because...
...it is both a challenging and exciting task to contribute to the smoothest possible operation of the university. To enable research and teaching, the existing infrastructure requires daily monitoring, maintenance and servicing.
What I like about my work...
...that it never gets boring, because no two days are the same. This is also due to the fact that work planned in advance often has to be postponed because any faults that occur have to be rectified immediately. We also look after the technology at the Jade University of Applied Sciences and the ICBM in Wilhelmshaven. I don't see the necessary travelling times and corresponding work as a chore, but as a welcome change and challenge.
A special moment for me at university was...
I was given the opportunity to qualify as a master electrician while working. I will always be grateful for the support and patience of my colleagues and superiors during this time, which was made even more difficult by coronavirus. Once I had passed my exams and achieved my goal, we all celebrated together.
I would like to swap a week with...
...our construction department. I would like to understand the structures involved in the planning and realisation of construction measures and perhaps also be able to critically question some things. After all, we are occasionally confronted with problems in maintenance that would not occur with different planning.
