Institute of Educational Sciences
At the university since: 2022
I am #UOL because...
...I like the community that exists at the university. I like being with people and I like working for the common good.
What I like about my work...
...that it is an interesting combination. I'm involved in the "Primary school of the future" research project, which focuses on the teaching concept of "learning through engagement". We collect and analyse data from primary schools. This gives me interesting insights into research and scientific work in general. But then there is also a large practical component, like now: Project weeks are currently being organised at the participating schools. I'm right in the middle of everyday school life, I'm with the children and can really get involved. In general, I like the fact that I get to know a lot of people through my work, even in the scientific field. For example, I recently attended a conference that I organised together with Juli Schlesier, the head of the project. That was super exciting.
A special moment for me at university was...
...the start of the project. It was great when the work at the schools really got underway after months of planning.
I would like to swap a week with...
...Juli Schlesier, who heads the "Primary School of the Future" project and is a research assistant at the Institute of Educational Sciences. I think it would be exciting to experience her everyday life as a lecturer and researcher. She studied to be a teacher, just like I am currently doing, and then decided to do research. I'd be interested to know what it's like not to take the school route after graduating.
