Chamber and state victory 2025
Eske Kranich is the chamber and state winner 2025 for the precision mechanics apprenticeship. She took second place at national level. We are delighted with this success.

Education
We are training to become a precision mechanic.
Due to the diversity of our tasks, the training is very comprehensive. As we do not carry out series production, our apprentices are always getting to know new areas of application.

We can look back on a long period of successful training, during which we have produced several chamber and state winners. At national level, our successes in recent decades have been characterised by first or second national winners. Just recently in 2025, the German Metalworking Association once again awarded a silver medal to a precision mechanic from our workshops.
In addition, internships can be organised with us (on request) and pupils can get to know the mechanical workshops at the Wechloy campus on the annual Youth Future Day.
What does a precision mechanic do?
Precision mechanics manufacture precision metal components for machinery and precision instruments, and assemble them into fully functional units. In doing so, they also install electronic measurement and control components. Precision mechanics often use computer-controlled machine tools for this purpose, although they sometimes carry out the work manually.
They plan work processes, set up machine tools and machine metals using cutting processes such as turning, milling, drilling, grinding and honing. They then assess the results of their work and check, for example, whether specified dimensional tolerances have been met. In addition, they assemble the manufactured machine parts and devices, adjust them according to their intended use and provide operating instructions. They also maintain and repair precision mechanical devices.
Precision mechanics are primarily employed by manufacturers of precision mechanical and optical products, as well as in the machine and tool-making sectors. They also work, for example, in companies that produce electrical measuring and control instruments.
