Due to changes in land-use and soil hydrology, as envisaged in the scenarios, we expect changes in soil properties controlling greenhouse gas exchanges and a change in respect of ecosystem carbon sink and source functions.

To estimate these changes soil carbon stocks, soil organic matter fractions, methane emission and the nitrous oxide emission will be quantified and modelled for all ecosystem types.
