Decentralised Equal Opportunities Officer
The equal opportunities work of School IV
The development and implementation of strategies and measures in the area of equal opportunities/diversity is anchored in the Dean's Office as a management task. As decentralised Equal Opportunities Officers (EO), we support the work of the central Equal Opportunities Officers at School and Institute level.
Basically, we are the point of contact for challenges relating to equal opportunities in your Institutes. We support recruitment procedures and work in committees to ensure that equal opportunities are realised. If you are confronted with sexist comments and behaviour or discrimination on the basis of gender in the workplace/seminar, you can contact us. You can also contact us in the event of sexual harassment. Please also note the services offered by the ConTakt counselling centre.
Our tasks include
- Supporting recruitment procedures to monitor and enforce equal opportunities measures
- Representing the interests of women in recruitment and appointment procedures
- Counselling female employees (WiMi and MTV), students, graduates and doctoral candidates, in particular on career advancement and ensuring equal opportunities for all genders
- Counselling on reconciling family life with studies, academic qualifications and academic appointments
- Advice in cases of (sexualised) discrimination and (sexual) violence; assistance in contacting professional psychological and legal advice centres
- Implementation of needs-orientated measures such as gender-sensitive teaching etc.
- Development of new measures to promote equal opportunities that are adapted to the current development of the individual Institutes
If you have any questions, suggestions or need advice, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will take your concerns seriously and discuss the next steps together. Of course, we treat all discussions confidentially and have a protected place for this in the equal opportunities room (V 03 1-W116a).
