Change of first name and gender information for trans*, inter* and non-binary students and university members of the UOL

Since 1 November 2023, all trans*, inter* and non-binary persons have been able to change their official first name(s) and gender information to match their identity in the leading IT systems with external effect (e.g. employment contract, email address, enrolment certificate, etc.) by submitting an application. Underlying guideline for the procedure.

The application is available to students in Stud.IP from 1 November 2023 under Study details -> Change personal details. Further information and FAQs

Would you like to make your pronouns visible on StudIP? The ZFG provides practical instructions on how to do this.

Employees should contact the person responsible for them in Division 1.

Offer for postdocs*

The programme line "Progressio. Successfully shaping top positions in science" as part of the Helene Lange Mentoring Programme for female scientists* will start a new round in September 2024.
Applications are now open; the application deadline is 30 June 2024.

Graduate Academy courses and programmes

We are also pleased to announce that the successful Helene Lange Mentoring Programme for female academics*, previously funded by the Female Professors Programme, will be continued. From 2024, the "Potentials" funding line will be replaced by the new "Perspectives. Pathways into science for first-time academics". The "Progressio" funding line will remain unchanged. The programmes will then be financed from the "Nachwuchspakt" strategy surcharge.

The Helene Lange Mentoring Programme currently offers the following services for female* academics in different career phases:

Measures to ensure equal opportunities

* In the following, all persons who define themselves as female scientists are addressed. The term "female* scientists" used here also explicitly includes trans*, inter* and non-binary people who define themselves as women.
