Winter semester 2024/5: Think Small! Microcredentials - expanding digital skills with mini-courses
How do I create a perfect prompt for a large language model? How can audio contributions be produced for exams? Can AI also do art?
Artificial intelligence and other digital tools used in higher education are developing too rapidly for rigid curricula; there is often a lack of space to experiment with new media. Microcredentials are small, compact learning units that can be adapted to current needs at any time and teach digital skills in a short format. They enable lifelong learning and can be used from the outset as an Open Educational Resource (OER) from the outset.
In our seminar wwilldiscuss the possible use of such mini-courses at the university and jointly develop microcredentials on various topics. The fields of work are open and will be determined by the participants under guidance. At the end, there will be drafts, concepts or finished products that demonstrate practical skills relating to digital teaching and learning.

Think Small! is a cross-faculty course for all Bachelor's and Master's students, developed as part of the participate@UOL project. Lecturers from Fak I, II, III, IV, V and VI will accompany the discussions and the selection of topics and support the students in realising their ideas for microcredentials. No specific prior knowledge is required for participation; participants should bring their own digital devices.
