8th run of general medicine

We are already looking forward to the 8th General Practice Run, which will take place as part of the Oldenburg Marathon on 25 October 2026.

Once again, a very large team will be taking part in the General Practice Run, consisting mainly of teams from GP practices and medical students. 188 runners have registered: 35 four-person half-marathon relay teams (4×5.5 km), n=14 in the 10 km run, n=20 in the solo half-marathon and n=14 on the marathon route from Wardenburg to Oldenburg. We are also particularly looking forward to welcoming back four Dutch relay teams from Groningen, representing the student triathlon club G.S.T.V. Tritanium.

7th run of general medicine

Here, at last , is our review of the 7th General Practice Run as part of the 2025 Oldenburg Marathon – it was fantastic once again!

With a total of 154 participants – including, above all, medical students, teaching doctors and a few alumni – our team was represented across all distances: from the half-marathon relay (4×5.5 km) through the 10 km run to the half-marathon and marathon.

Our fastest half-marathon relay teams took 1st, 3rd and 6th place in the mixed category (out of 77 mixed relay teams), 4th place in the women’s category (out of 29) and 5th place in the men’s category (out of 68).

A huge thank you to the organising team, all the volunteers at the Oldenburg Marathon, and to everyone who took part or came along to cheer us on!
