- Find out about the Institute of History’s partner universities and institutes well in advance. Please use the websites of the universities and institutes for this purpose. Consider carefully which host universities are suitable for you.

Complete the form and attach it to your application documents as a PDF! - Statement of purpose: On one page, explain the academic reasons for choosing your host university. In your statement, please list one or two alternatives to your first choice. This is important in case you are not offered a place at your first-choice university. Important: If you wish to attend courses taught in English at the host university, please write your letter in English!

- Application deadlines: 30 November if you wish to apply for the following academic year. 30 April if you wish to apply for remaining places for the summer semester.
- Selection process: Places are allocated based on suitability and the persuasiveness of your application. You will be notified immediately after places have been allocated on 15 January or 1 June.
