E13 Biometrics, permanent (consulting for medical studies)

The department advises on medical studies that do not run via the KKS. These include doctorates and student qualification theses. The service is supervised by the Head of Biometry and cooperates closely with the advisory service for the KKS. The person is integrated into the EuB team and will also take on teaching and research tasks there. Induction and supervision by the more experienced biometricians in the department will take place depending on the level of training. The following tasks are planned:

  • Advice on medical studies in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences
  • Taking on biometric tasks in the EuB department
  • Participation in teaching in the Human Medicine curriculum

All three positions are part-time. Home office is possible on a pro rata basis. For the official job advertisement texts, please see the linked pdf documents! Applications should be sent to bewerbungen.eub@uni-oldenburg.de. bewerbungen.eub@uni-oldenburg.de.

Qualification theses and internships

We offer qualification theses and internships in the fields of medicine, epidemiology, health services research, biometrics, mathematics or statistics, without these necessarily being advertised. The didactics of these areas is also a focus of our department, so we are also happy to receive inquiries on these topics. If you are interested, please send your application documents (short CV, short letter of motivation with details of your main interests, time requirements and previous knowledge) to Antje Timmer.

Voluntary academic year

We have very good experience with volunteers in the FWJ. We do not regularly take part in the usual allocation procedures, as the work we do does not correspond to the usual expectations of graduates regarding medical research - you will not be working in the laboratory, with patients, in the operating theater or with a microscope. However, if you are interested in working on scientific topics on the computer that are relevant to patient care, in intensive training in scientific principles and in a friendly team, we look forward to receiving your application!
