National Park House Wittbülten
A modern research center was established at the National Park House Wittbülten in a former agricultural building of the Hermann Lietz-School on Spiekeroog in 2011. The establishment was conducted in cooperation with the ICBM. The laboratory and training rooms of Wittbülten offer scientists and students attractive research and learning opportunities. Accommodation is provided for up to 12 scientists within three apartments. The creation of synergy effects between marine research, tourism as well as environmental and science education is an important concern of all cooperation partners. An integration of research projects on Spiekeroog into the permanent exhibition of the National Park House Wittbülten was enabled. Furthermore, lectures are held for tourists and for pupils of the Herman Lietz-School.
