At this point, all interested parties are invited to submit their academic work. The studies on material culture examine everyday objects, their nature, production methods, use, distribution, presentation (e.g. in museums) and significance as representations of social processes, ways of life and power relations. They combine material culture research and fashion theory with approaches from cultural studies and cultural analysis.
In this series, selected contributions reviewed by members of the scientific advisory board are made available to the public. Conference proceedings and results from research projects will alternate with works by young researchers, supplemented by individual studies by established colleagues and guest contributions that will be made available to students.
Submission of contributions

Internal procedure
Would you like to submit a manuscript at the suggestion of a lecturer? (This applies to theses, exhibition catalogues, project reports and other special works). These are the steps for publication:

- For theses, the following quality check applies as a rule: Both reviewers have assessed the thesis with at least 1.3 ('still very good'). In the case of theses that are in the 'good' range but are still worthy of publication, the two reviewers will justify this separately.
- You format your manuscript according to the publisher's style sheet .
- You then send your manuscript to the as an editable text file.
- The editor and the editorial team decide on publication.
- This is followed by proofreading and editing of the manuscript.
- The author revises the manuscript.
- After a final review, the manuscript is published.
External procedure
Would you like to submit an article on your own initiative? These are the steps for publication:
- Contact the .
- Format the manuscript according to the guidelines of the publication series and send it to the editorial office as an editable text file.
- Review of the manuscript by the editorial board and the editor.
- Review of the manuscript in a double-blind procedure:
- The manuscript is forwarded anonymised to a member of the scientific advisory board.
- The member prepares an anonymised review.
- The editor and the editorial board decide on publication.
- This is followed by proofreading and editing of the manuscript.
- The author revises the manuscript.
- After a final review, the manuscript is published.
