We are happy to update on the project progress of our postdoc, Fangliang Li!
Fangliang joined our group in October 2024, with a strong background in physical chemistry and surface science, including extensive UHV (ultrahigh vacuum) studies on photocatalytic dehydrogenation of hydrocarbons on rutile TiO2 during his postdoctoral fellowships at the Southern University of Science and Technology and University of South Carolina.
His expertise is now driving a critical development for our Su2nCat-CO2 project: the design, construction, and testing of a near ambient pressure (NAP) photoreactor for model catalysts.
This NAP (photo-)reactor eventually will be integrated into the existing UHV system to bridge the "pressure gap" and study our hybrid materials under more realistic conditions, much closer to technically realistic operating conditions.
Together with engineering experts from our workshop, Fangliang has developed a suitable design and completed first prototype tests. We are excited to see the new data this setup will produce!
