Johanna Lubasch, born in 1993, studied the bachelor in ecotrophology at the Justus-Liebig-University (JLU) in Gießen and the master in public health at the University of Bielefeld from 2011 to 2017. During her master’s degree study she focused on the development and evaluation of health-related interventions. In addition to her studies, she worked as a student assistant at the Institute of Nutritional Sciences of the JLU Gießen, at the Criminological Research Institute of Lower Saxony (KFN) in Hannover as well as at the Leibniz Institute for Prevention Research and Epidemiology (BIPS). Thereby she acquired the application of different quantitative and qualitative research methods.

After the completion of her studies she worked as a research associate at the BIPS in Bremen. Here she supported the case recruitment in an epidemiological cancer study and conducted a process evaluation of a substance abuse prevention study at German universities.

Since June 2018 she is employed in the division of organizational health services research of the Department for Health Services Research at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg, where she pursues a PhD.
