From 16 to 20 March, Miriam Doderer and Lea Schnackenberg took part in a PhD School in Sweden. The event was organised by the Sustainability Transitions Research Network (STRN) and offered around 30 doctoral candidates the opportunity to spend a week intensively exploring topics and theories relating to sustainability transitions.

In addition to lectures and workshops with renowned scientists such as Wisdom Kanda, Thomas Magnusson and Åsa Svenfelt, the PhD School focused in particular on reflecting on their own research projects. Miriam and Lea contributed their respective approaches and ideas in feedback sessions and received valuable re-registering students from international colleagues. The intensive exchange enabled them to sharpen their own research perspectives, reflect on methodological approaches and gain new impetus for their future work.

Another highlight was the excursion to the company Tekniska Verken AB in Linköping. The company is responsible for collecting and processing waste on behalf of the region. The circular economy orientated company's field of activity also includes the management of electricity grids, water and wastewater systems and the production of biogas.

The week was characterised by intensive content-related work, an in-depth exchange on own research approaches as well as numerous new professional and personal impulses.
