On 19 September 2025, Lea Schnackenberg gave a lecture on hydrogen as an interface technology as part of the Lower Saxony Summer School on Hydrogen Technologies at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) in Oldenburg. She focussed in particular on the importance of social science perspectives for the energy transition and showed how technological developments can only be successfully shaped in interaction with social structures, stakeholder constellations and institutional framework conditions.
The lecture offered participants the opportunity to look beyond technical aspects and discuss the interconnected role of technology and society in the transformation to sustainable energy systems.
