The workshop on Saturday, 15 November 2025, as part of the Time Travel Club at The National Archives (TNA) in London (Kew, UK) was a wonderful family event for British primary school children that delighted young and old alike. Together with the families, we immersed ourselves in the world of privateers and their treasures in a playful way - with creative activities, exciting historical documents and lots of curious questions from the young participants.
A special thank you goes toLou Cash, Rachel Hillmann and Georgina Fernando (Education, TNA), who made this event possible with their great preparation and support. The positive response shows how valuable these family-orientated formats are for our project. Dr Lucas Haasis contributed to the workshop with his expertise on caperings and the source material of the Prize Papers. Thanks to all the helping hands who made this event possible!
Also Lucas' LinkedIn post (from 19.11.25) also highlights the energy and enthusiasm of the day and emphasises how inspiring the collaboration is.
In the QuaSU project(Quellenarbeitim Sachunterricht), (learning) tasks and instructional material based on historical sources are developed and tested in practice. More information: https://uol.de/en/quasu
