EDP Contract Law CD-ROM
Daniela Jobke-Westhöfer
Until now, familiarisation with the legal problems of IT contract law has been tied to the very extensive standard works and the wealth of current essay literature. Now, for the first time, "EDP Contract Law" can be summarised in a compact yet comprehensive overview of the basic principles of civil law and their application to software transfer agreements in a contemporary CD-Rom format. After a brief technical introduction, the CD-Rom offers the user a detailed insight into the copyright and contract law categorisation of the various constellations of software transfer. The author has paid particular attention to software-specific contractual clauses and liability for defects. She devotes a separate chapter to the increasingly important open source software. The work offers a quick introduction to the issues - for both students and practitioners. The included glossary provides the user with an explanation of both legal and technical terms. The links to the numerous analysed case law make it interesting for use in practice. Further references to specialised literature and Internet offers also enable the user to deal with the subject matter in depth and keep up to date at all times. The author is a practising lawyer. She also works as a lecturer in specialist lawyer training. The CD-ROM contains hypermedia-linked, electronic texts with the cited laws and judgements in full text.
