Computer and Internet Criminal Law

The authors show that the misuse of the new telecommunications media goes beyond the keywords "incitement of the people" and "child pornography", which are repeatedly mentioned in this context: the categories of economic offences, offences against the democratic constitutional state, offences against the personality in the broad sense and offences against young people in the broad sense are dealt with in detail. The first chapter deals with the applicability of German criminal law to computer and Internet offences. The second chapter explains the provisions of the German Criminal Code on legal issues:

• Endangering the democratic rule of law
• Distribution of pornographic material
• Spying on data
• Protection of professional secrets
• Data alteration and computer sabotage and
• computer fraud.

The third chapter examines the secondary criminal law provisions of copyright criminal law, competition criminal law, data protection criminal law and youth protection criminal law. Furthermore, the authors provide a comprehensive overview of current further literature.
