The particular appeal of this book lies in the fact that its authors approach the issue of environmental protection from different angles: In the first part, Wolfgang Jüttner, a political scientist and (former) environment minister of the state of Lower Saxony, deals with the personal responsibility of companies and perspectives on deregulation. Reinhard Pfriem and Uwe Schneidewind are professors of Business Administration at the University of Oldenburg, specialising in the environment and sustainability. Reinhard Pfriem examines the question "Where does the framework come from and where is it going?", while Uwe Schneidewind deals with the topic "From instrument to institution - perspectives for a reorientation of environmental policy towards sustainability policy". The book concludes with a contribution by lawyer Jürgen Taeger on "Environmental policy beyond regulatory law", in which he examines the economic incentives that have now found their way into numerous environmental laws and which are strongly demanded by industry - particularly in tax law and public tenders.
