Prof Dr Tetiana Kuznietsova (Odessa)

Prof. Dr Tetiana Kuznietsova was a guest in Oldenburg from July 2022 to June 2023 on a scholarship from the Volkswagen Foundation as part of a programme with which the foundation supports Ukrainian war refugees from the field of science. The topic of her project, which she pursued within this framework, is "Communicative practices in mass media and intra-family communication in central and southern Ukraine: sociolinguistic aspects".

Dr habil. Ulyana Veryna (Minsk)

After studying "Belarusian and Russian language and literature at the Belarusian State University, Ulyana Veryna completed her doctorate in 2001 on the poetry of the Belarusian avant-garde of the 1980s and 90s. She was appointed as a lecturer in 2014. In 2020, she completed her habilitation on the theory of poetic genres using the example of contemporary Russian poetry.

Since July 2022, she has been a scholarship holder of the Philipp Schwartz Initiative of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at the Institute of Slavic Studies at the University of Oldenburg.

The topic of her project is "The transnational phenomenon of literature in Belarus from the 1920s to the 1930s". The fundamental aim of her project is to research the transnational context of literature, which in this period consisted of contributions in Jewish, Russian and Polish. Various aspects will be considered in order to systematically analyse this phenomenon: Conditions of institutionalisation, aesthetic achievements, transnational interrelations, etc.
