Reel from the taster day at the UOL

Taster day for individuals

Taster day for individuals

What is it actually like to study at the University of Oldenburg? How do lectures and seminars work? What is the campus like? What advice do students have for new students?

Prospective students can find answers to these and other questions at the taster day.

During the Open Day, participants have the opportunity to spend a day getting to know the University of Oldenburg, chatting to others and getting a taste of regular lectures and seminars.

For those interested in teacher training, a special Open Day tailored to this programme is offered.

The open days are held during term time (summer semester: April to July; winter semester: October to January).

Overall, I really enjoyed the day. I found the programme in particular to be extremely varied. I thought it was very good that a lot of consideration was given to individual interests, both in the lecture and in the free choice of courses. I also found the opportunity to make direct contact with students in the Q&A session very helpful.

Dates and registration

It will not be possible to take part in the taster day again until the 2026/2027 winter semester. The dates are expected to be published here in October.

I liked the mixture of authentic/genuine events to get a taste of the programme and specific events for us prospective students. I was also happy to have the chance to look at course formats other than a lecture.
