International Summer Fest 2026
From cloudburst to summer bliss
Right at the start of the event, a massive downpour had participants flee into the A14 building, turning the lobby of the lecture hall theatre into a makeshift market hall. But once it had stopped raining, everyone gathered around the stage as the VP for Studying and Teaching officially opened the festival.
Moderated by our charming International Office tutors, an exciting stage programme provided great entertainment and the international marketplace spoiled visitors with treats such as Dutch pancakes, dorayaki, and falafel. The Ukrainian folk band ‘Rodovid’ got everyone on their feet, and, fittingly, the band ‘Weather the Storm’ conjured up the day’s final shower.
Amidst advice sessions at the International Office stall and information stand run by the city – and even a lively round of ladder golf – there was plenty of laughter, feasting and networking. We braved the weather and came out on top. We’re already looking forward to next year!
