Eike Buhr M.Ed.
Eike Buhr studied history and philosophy at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster. He worked as a student assistant at the Institute of Educational Sciences in Münster and as a research assistant in the BMBF-funded project Neuro-Enhancement in the Educational and Work Environment (NEIBA). In his master's thesis he dealt with transcranial magnetic stimulation as a potential form of neuro-enhancement in the context of allocative practices within the welfare state. After his second state examination and a teaching position at the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt, he joined the Department of Ethics in Medicine as a research associate in January 2020.
His research interests include political philosophy with a focus on contemporary theories of justice, theories of the good life, and questions of legal and social philosophy. In the bioethical context, he is mainly concerned with questions of allocation ethics and the digitalization of health care. Within the BMBF-funded project TESIComP, he is investigating ethical and scientific-theoretical implications of the use of AI-based expert systems in neuropsychiatric research and practice.
