Exchange Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, NYC, USA
For several years, there has been a scientific co-operation between the Department of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Pain Management and the Montefiore Medical Center, the university hospital of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City, USA. Doctors interested in research have the option of completing a research fellowship in the USA: Under the direction of Prof. Dr Matthias Eikermann, PhD, scientists from our university hospital have the opportunity to spend a research stay, usually lasting 18 months, at one of the world's leading data research centres in anaesthesiology and intensive care medicine. At this Institute, you gain experience in international high-level research and learn the basics of data processing and analysis in order to apply them to our own data sets in Oldenburg in the future. In the first few years of this co-operation, publications in leading medical journals such as Nature Medicine or The Lancet Respiratory Medicine have already been produced with the significant cooperation of the Oldenburg "Research Fellows".
Interested prospective anaesthesiologists are cordially invited to find out more about the programme and the research opportunities at our university hospital.
