During my bachelor's degree in biology, I developed a strong interest in animal behaviour and the neural mechanisms underlying complex behavioural strategies. In my bachelor's thesis, which I wrote in Basil el Jundi's research group, I investigated the compass calibration behaviour of monarch butterflies and its effects on their subsequent orientation abilities. In general, I am interested in how neural systems generate adaptive behavioural strategies in animals.
