This year's International Open Access Week (https://www.openaccessweek.org/) took place from Oct. 20–26 under the motto „Who owns our Knowledge“. The event was jointly organized by the open access teams at the University of Bremen and the University of Oldenburg allowing for a wider spectrum of both researchers at the resp. institutions and in the interested public.

The 2025 theme asked a pointed question about the present moment and how, in a time of disruption, communities can reassert control over the knowledge they produce. It also challenged us to reflect on not only who has access to education and research but on how knowledge is created and shared, where it has come from, and whose voices are recognized and valued.

Monday, Oct. 20
