Award for outstanding Master's thesis presented to chemistry graduate Jasmin Schmeling

At this year's graduation ceremony, School V - School of Mathematics and Science bid farewell to around 590 graduates. Chemistry graduate Jasmin Schmeling was honoured for her outstanding Master's thesis.

582 students graduated from the School V - School of Mathematics and Science: A total of 307 Bachelor's and 230 Master's students as well as 45 doctorates were honored at the Graduation ceremony taking place in March 2025 at the Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg.

For her thesis entitled "Structural-activity-correlation of multi metal MOFs directly synthesized on various substrates for alkaline OER", in which the use of mono- and multimetallic metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) as catalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in alkaline water electrolysis was investigated, the chemistry graduate Jasmin Schmeling received an award for an outstanding Master's thesis.
After completing her Master's degree, Jasmin Schmeling continues her research in the field of alkaline water electrolysis as a member of the Working group Prof. Michael Wark, focusing on spin-polarised and chiral-selective electrocatalysts for OER.

The members and staff of the Institute of Chemistry congratulate Jasmin Schmeling on this award!
