What are confidential counsellors?

Confidential counsellors are low-threshold contact persons for all students and employees of School V at the University of Oldenburg. They are available as contact persons for problems and conflicts at the institute level or in individual areas of work if these cannot be dealt with directly between the persons concerned for various reasons or if this is explicitly not wanted. Confidential counsellors help to clarify intercultural and other misunderstandings at an early stage, mediate experts for conflict resolution and thus ensure a positive working atmosphere.

How do confidential counsellors work?

The talks held with the confidential counsellors are free of charge and confidential.  The talks should take place at an agreed time and a place that allows confidentiality.

To which confidential counsellors can I turn to?

A person concerned can turn to a confidential counsellor of his/her choice, irrespective of status group and institute affiliation. Confidential counsellors know about the possible procedures in the Institutes, the School and at the University and can accompany the first steps, if desired.
