The textbook entitled ‘Brückenkurs Chemie - Kompaktes Wissen für den Studienstart’ (in German only) was published at the turn of the year. Co-author of the book is Prof Dr Timm Wilke, working group leader of the Chemistry Education research group. The aim of the book is to provide interested pupiles and first-year students with an overview of chemistry, helping them to refresh adn expand their own knowledge in topics as: 

• The structure and nomenclature of chemical compounds,
• the structure of the periodic table,
• reaction types and processes,
• stoichiometry for setting up reaction equations or even
• energetic and kinetic aspects of chemical reactions
