For students at Carl von Ossietzky University, the Germany semester ticket has been included in the semester fee since the 2024/25 winter semester. You can access this ticket and find further information on the AStA's website.

The ticket is valid throughout Germany on local buses and local trains (second class). The IC may be used between Bremen and Norddeich (Mole)/Emden Außenhafen. The Campus Card remains the valid ticket on the route between Leer and Groningen.

Employees of the Carl von Ossietzky University have the opportunity to obtain a JobTicket from the Bremen/Lower Saxony Transport Association.

The VBN explains the fare zone as follows: "The fare depends on the fare zones you travel in or touch. The number of fare zones is determined on the basis of the routes travelled. If you are travelling through two fare zones, fare level B applies to you, for three fare zones fare level C, for four fare zones fare level D, and so on. Journeys within a fare zone and journeys from a neutral zone to a neighbouring zone or vice versa count as price level A. Zones travelled through twice are only counted once. A maximum of 8 zones are counted (price level H). Tickets in price level H entitle the holder to travel on the entire network."

As of 01 May 2023, the DeutschlandTicket was introduced. The current monthly price is 58 euros. This will be increased to 63 euros on 01 January 2026. The state of Lower Saxony does not currently grant its employees an employer subsidy for the Deutschland-Ticket, so it is unfortunately not possible to apply for it via the employer. If employees wish to switch from the VBN JobTicket to the Deutschland-Ticket, they must cancel their JobTicket themselves with the VWG.
