Station music theatre in a live online broadcast
20 students from the Institute of Music present a music theatre piece in five stations under the direction of Volker Schindel. "fever la vida" deals with topics that must not be forgotten despite the pandemic, despite comfort or the "so-might-people-do-this" attitude. Excerpts from Igor Stravinsky's "Le sacre du printemps", Francis Poulenc's "Figure humaine" and music by Rammstein, Rainald Grebe, Kate Tempest, Elvis Presley and Lady Gaga, among others, will be performed.
Instead of the originally planned staggered tour in small groups on the campus of the University of Oldenburg, the project took place exclusively in digital space due to new corona restrictions. Humorous, serious or light-hearted scenes could be experienced in a live online broadcast. The familiar seasons provide the backdrop. Human life is in a feverish state here, conflicts boil over, solutions have to reach boiling point, people bicker and fight like in the worst fever dream. And above all, the environment is getting warmer. How do the seasons still provide structure when the earth has a fever?
The project is a co-operation between Volker Schindel (Music, Scene, Theatre) and Dr Cornelia Bartsch (Cultural History of Music).
Around 250 people were able to take part in both performances live online. Admission was free!
