Here you will find the enrolment regulations of Carl von Ossietzky University.
Section 9 of the enrolment regulations is relevant to your enrolment:
Simultaneous study of several degree programmes
(1) Students who are already enrolled at another university may be admitted to the university if it is possible to study simultaneously at both universities. In cases of doubt, the responsible School must be consulted.
(2) Students who are already enrolled on a degree programme with restricted admission at this or another university may only be enrolled on a further degree programme with restricted admission if they have been admitted to this degree programme, the degree programme is a useful addition to the degree programme first taken up and it is possible to study on both degree programmes at the same time. The opinions of the Schools involved must be obtained for this purpose.

Proposals for double degree programmes
Are you studying for a Bachelor's degree and would like to add two additional subjects, i.e. complete a double degree programme? At least one of the two new subjects is a subject offered by School III and at least one subject is subject to admission restrictions?
Are you studying a Master's degree programme with restricted admission and would like to apply for another Master's degree programme with restricted admission (M.Ed. or M.A.)?
Please submit a proposal to the Dean of Studies of School III (by email to
Your proposal should include the following:
- Name and student ID number.
- Which degree programme with which combination of subjects are you currently studying?
- Which degree programme with which combination of subjects do you want to study additionally in the double degree programme?
- How are you planning your course of study? Please present this in a table (with both degree programmes, possibly with four subjects). Do not plan more than a maximum of 45 CP per semester.
- Please explain why the new degree programme is a useful addition to your previous studies.
- Please present your previous successful studies (usually by means of an extract from Stud.IP with your overview of grades or the transcript of records).

Recognition of credits in a double degree programme (Master's)
Especially in the combination of two Master's degree programmes (Master's + Master's degree programme; Master's + Master of Education), recognition of credits from one degree programme into the other is possible in School III, depending on the combination of studies. If you have decided on a specific combination of degree programmes, please book a consultation appointment (depending on the combination of subjects) with the study coordinators in Stud.IP: Antje Beckmann or Nicole Griese.
