40 years of co-operation between Oldenburg and Groningen
The University of Oldenburg and the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen recently celebrated the 40th anniversary of their academic cooperation. To mark the occasion, a film was produced with contributions from various participants on the Oldenburg side, which is now available to the general public at the following address:
Biosphere 4.0
Springer Spektrum has recently published an anthology entitled "Biosphere 4.0" with numerous contributions on the importance of UNESCO biosphere reserves as model regions for sustainable development. The articles focus on the experience gained with biosphere reserves in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The volume is being published in time for the 50th anniversary of the UNESCO "Man and Biosphere" programme, which was launched in 1971.
